American tenor Matthew Newlin is one of the most versatile tenors of his generation and inspires audiences in a wide range of roles from baroque operas to contemporary pieces.

The 2026/27 season brings Matthew to his second production of Die Walküre, this time returning to State Opera Hamburg to sing Siegmund. Enjoying further collaboration with ballet, he returns to Dutch National Opera to sing the tenor arias in Sasha Waltz' production of Bach's St John Passion. Matthew then returns to Teatro Real to premiere the role of Boris in Janáček's Katia Kabanová before returning to the role of Narraboth with Teatro Regio Torino. In concert, Matthew sings Mozart's Mass in C minor with Kammerorchestra Basel and Franceso Corti, The Spectre's Bride with Petr Popelka and Prague Radio Symphony, and sings Dr. Richardson in Missy Mazzoli's Breaking the Waves.
